Tour of Stirling Castle Scotland

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

I am presenting this evening some pictures and one video of the Stirling Castle.

The castle dates mainly from the 15th and 16 th centuries when it was a principal royal residence, seeing the birth of James III, the childhood of James V and the crowning of the infant Mary Queen of Scots. Work in the 16th century largely shaped the structure as it survives today. Its main features are the central turreted gatehouse with its flanking towers and curtain wall, the Great Hall, the Palace and the Chapel Royal.
